Persians are indoor cats because their fur will become filthy and unruly if left to roam around outside.
They are notoriously high maintenence and I can't stress that enough. You need to groom their coats daily and you need to wash their faces daily too.
Persian cats also need to be bathed as their coats get greasy. Are you prepared to do this? Also you can NEVER bath a knotty cat you will only make matters worse.
Cats can be happy indoors if they have a companion pet, toys, scratching posts, window shelves and lots of attention from you.
